What is summer reading?
Summer Reading Club is an engaging learning program that encourages all ages to read over the summer for prizes and discover new things by attending library programs. Everyone is invited to join in the fun, young children to adults.
Why is summer reading so important?
There is a large body of research demonstrating that summer slide can cause students to lose 2-3 months of learning, even more for students in low income families without access to books. Reading over the summer prevents kids from falling behind in the new school year! Mansfield Public Library can help beat the summer slide with free educational programming and our Summer Reading Club. Now is the time to sign up for our Summer Reading Club and beat the summer slide!
Need some fun and educational activities to do? Browse through our virtual programming videos that are available for all age groups. Mansfield Public Library has been hard at work creating virtual content that you can do at your own home. All programming videos will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube.
