Computers at the Library
Mansfield Public Library has 20 public computers for ages 12 and over, and six teen computers for ages 9 to 19. All computers have internet connections and are available for public use. A library card in good standing is required. The Library also has Google Chromebooks available to checkout for use inside the library only.
Limitations and disclaimers
The Library's wireless network is not secure. Information sent to or from your device may be captured by anyone with a wireless device and the appropriate software within 300 feet.
Library staff is not able to provide technical assistance and no guarantee can be provided if you will be able to make a wireless connection.
The Library assumes no responsibility for the safety of equipment or for laptop configurations, security or data files resulting from connection to the Library's network.

Device Charging
We are excited to announce that we have a charging station available for up to 8 patrons at a time to charge their mobile devices! Each locker contains one of each charging cord: USB-C, USB-micro, Lightning. Lockers are secured with a PIN you select, so that only you can remove your device when it's done charging.
Wi-Fi at the Library
Complimentary Wi-Fi access is provided at the Mansfield Public Library. Laptop or mobile device users may connect directly to the internet via Wi-Fi provided throughout the Library. Please note there is no password needed to connect to the Library Wi-Fi, and users may connect to the network “MPLguest.”

Hardware requirements
Your device must have an 802.11a, 802.11b, or 802.11g based Ethernet device installed. Any of the following that is Wi-Fi enabled will work:
- Gaming device
- Phone
- Laptop
- Tablet
Software requirements
Use a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Set your TCP client software to obtain addresses automatically from a server (DHCP).
Configure TCP/IP software by opening the Network Connections icon in the Control Panel. Right click on wireless connection and choose Properties. Under Protocol settings select TCP/IP. Set the IP address to obtain an IP address automatically. Leave all other fields blank. Restart the laptop for the changes to take effect.
Wireless Printing
Print wirelessly from all mobile devices, including laptops, tablets, smartphones and Chromebooks. Questions? Call 817-728-3690. Printing is $.10 per page for black and white and $.25 per page for color.
There are three ways to print wirelessly at the library:

METHOD 1: SEND AS AN EMAIL ATTACHMENT
Send the file you want to print to:

You will receive an email with a confirmation code. On the EnvisionWare Library Document Station the job will be identified by your email address.
METHOD 2: UPLOAD TO THE WEB PORTAL
Submit your print jobs from your laptop or home computer using our online printing portal, available at:

METHOD 3: USE THE PRINTERON APP
Download the free PrinterOn app for iPhone, iPad, or Android and use the app to print. Click on "tap here" to select a printer, enter your zip code, or allow the app to use your location and then choose either Mansfield Public Library Black and White or Mansfield Public Library Color.

What do I need to check out a hotspot?
In order to check-out a Mobile Beacon Hotspot, a valid drivers license or state ID and your library card in good standing (no fines or fees) is required. Mansfield Adult residents have access to the hotspot program. If you are an adult non-resident, but have an MISD student, call the library at 817-728-3690 to place a hold on a hotspot.
Where do I check out a hotspot?
Simply stop by the front desk to check-out your hotspot. If you have placed your item on hold through the library catalog, a notification will be sent to you when your item is available for pick-up. You must check out and return the hotspot to Mansfield Public Library front desk. Please do not return hotspots in the bookdrop.
How long is the checkout period?
The checkout period is one week/seven days, with no renewals. Once you have returned a hotspot, you may then be put on the the waiting list for the next one available.
Are there any overdue fines or fees?
There is a overdue fee of $1 per day for any late hotspot. Replacement costs for the hotspot kit is $200.
Using the Hotspot:
- The Wi-FI network name and password is printed on the back of the hotspot.
- To charge, insert the cable into the micro-USB charging port into the hotspot and plug into the outlet.
- To turn on/off the hotspot, press and hold the Power button.

How long may I use a computer?
Computer sessions are one-hour long. If no other user is waiting, the system will automatically extend the session.
How much is it to print and fax?
It's $.10 to print black and white pages and $.25 per color page. To fax, it costs $1.00 per page and only out going fax is service is available.
What if I need to scan something?
Scanning is free of charge. You may scan to your email or even save it on a USB drive.
