Walnut Creek Linear Trail Updates
IN PROGRESS: PHASE 3B (Cannon/Carlin intersection to Oliver Nature Park)
- Construction documents are in the final phases of design. After permitting and review, the project should get underway this winter.
- Widen sidewalks and create safe crossings for trail along Cannon and Matlock Roads to the Oliver Nature Park entrance
IN PROGRESS: 4A (Town Park to Mans Best Field Dog Park)
- Construction completed in Spring 2022 on the paved, 12-ft wide trail connecting the existing trail at Town Park under the Main St./157 Bridge heading west
- Will connect to future 4A expansion to Mans Best Field Dog Park; planning underway on those segments
COMPLETE: 3A (McKnight Park East to Cannon/Carlin Roads)
- Construction began February 2021, completed December 2021
- One-mile paved, 12-ft wide trail from the rear of McKnight Park East, around the Shops at Broad development to connect with existing sidewalks at Cannon and Carlin Roads

PHASE 2B
- Oliver Nature Park rear loop to 360 Tollway access road Passes through Philip Thompson Soccer Complex
- OPEN/Completed 2020
PHASE 2C
- 360 Tollway to eastern city limits
PHASE 3A
- James McKnight Park East to Cannon/Carlin intersection
- OPEN/Completed December 2021
PHASE 3B
- Widened sidewalks and safe crossings from Cannon/Carlin intersection to Oliver Nature Park
