Parks & Rec Brand Rep Program

brand rep-01Mansfield Parks & Recreation is now accepting applications for our exciting new teen volunteer program, Parks & Rec Brand Reps. Perfect for the socially savvy, almost-influencer or wannabe reporter who wants to give back to the community by getting out and getting involved...and telling the world all about it!

Brand Reps will complete a mandatory half-day training session to discuss smart phone photography, social media skills and best practices, journalism and field reporting, interactive marketing and public engagement. Once trained, they'll be deployed into the city, volunteering as parks & rec brand reps at a variety of events and programs including summer camps, story time and special events, as well as capturing everyday fun in the park moments. The Brand Reps will learn how to capture the action of an event or tell the stories behind a moment, from photos to interviews and crafting the text of a social media post. 

By the end of the 10-week program, each Parks & Rec Brand Rep will have a ton of in-demand new skills, at least 10 hours of community service and lots of fun experiences and memories in their hometown. 

  • Must be at least 15 years old and live in the city of Mansfield or attend MISD schools
  • Volunteers will be selected based on application and interview
  • Brand Reps must attend the mandatory training session and commit to at least ten service hours
  • Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation to and from each shift
  • Volunteers will sign a behavior contract upon joining; failure to follow the standards will result in immediate removal from program
  • All posts and photos will be reviewed by city staff before posting; some content may be modified or cut based on time, space, content or other factors as determined by staff
