Family Place Library

Family Place LibrariesThe Mansfield Public Library is a now a designated Family Place Library. Family Place Libraries are a national initiative designed to expand the roles of libraries in the community and promote early childhood development.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the toys in the children's area have been temporarily removed until further notice. Also all in-person programming, including Family Place Playtime, is currently unavailable due to health and safety concerns for patrons and staff.

Virtual Family Place Workshop

Mansfield Public Library now offers a virtual Family Place Workshop twice a year. The workshop is for children ages 1 to 3 and their caregivers to learn through play and interact with community professionals about early childhood development. Go at your own pace and earn rewards as you complete online badges. It's where early learning meets fun!

How do I participate?

  1. Click on the "Register" button above. It will take you to the library's digital platform, Beanstack. Beanstack allows you to easily track your reading and participate in activities, like those found in the workshop.
  2. If you don't already have a Beanstack account, create one for yourself as an adult. The Virtual Family Place Workshop is accessible to adult patrons to be completed with their 1-3 year old child. If you have multiple children, that's okay! Working through the workshop can count for more than one child. 
  3. After creating your adult Beanstack account, select and join the Virtual Family Place Workshop challenge.
  4. Complete activities to earn digital badges and a special reward for completing the entire workshop! Upon completion, you must pick up your reward at the Mansfield Public Library (104 S. Wisteria St., Mansfield, TX, 76063).
