Brent Newsom was elected to the Mansfield City Council in May 2023, serving Place 3.

He is a returning City Council member with experience from November 2011 to January 2021.

His other civic involvement includes serving as a board member of the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce, a board member and treasurer for the Mansfield Veterans Memorial Foundation, a member of the Mansfield Rotary Club, on the Mansfield Independent School District’s Zoning Committee, and as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

Brent has lived in Mansfield for more than 40 years. In that time, he and Michelle, his wife of 25 years, have raised two daughters here. He has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry.
