The Environmental Collection Center (ECC) is the City's permanent drop-off facility for unwanted household hazardous materials (anything with a warning label), electronics and recyclables. This facility is operated by the City's Environmental Services Department, and is open the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., and the Thursday and Friday before the second Saturday, from 3 - 7 p.m.

Reading with a gentle listener can reduce stress while also boosting a reader’s confidence to read aloud. Families and children may sign up for one-on-one time to read aloud to a therapy dog to practice reading skills and get some great pets in.

Our annual One City, One Book celebration of reading, writing, and the literary arts culminates in an evening with Peter Heller, award-winning author of the 2022 Reads! selection, The Guide. Mr. Heller will discuss his book, as well as the writer’s craft, followed by Q&A and an autograph session. We invite readers, book clubs, and Reads! sponsors to an entertaining evening at the Legacy High School Performing Arts Center. The event is free, but registration is required as seating is limited.
