In 2020, Mansfield celebrate the 130th anniversary of the City’s  incorporation. To mark this milestone, we want to know YOUR stories about life in Mansfield Tell us what it was like for you growing up, going to school, working an living here.



We may share your history through our city website, blogs, and educational videos. 


We may display your historic artifacts at one of our city facilities or the Mansfield Historical Museum and Heritage Center on Main Street. 


We may record you stories, photos, etc. in the City’s preservation collection and the Mansfield Historical Museum archive.


Here are some of the things we’d like to learn about:

  1. What was school like for you?
  2. How did your family come to live here?
  3. What was your first job?
  4. What was your home like?
  5. What kind of games did you play growing up?
  6. What was your favorite thing to do for fun?
  7. Were there any special events, activities or festivals at different times during the year?
  8. Do you remember any fads from your youth? Popular hairstyles? Clothes? 
  9. Are there any stories about famous or infamous relatives in your family?
  10. What places in Mansfield did you like to visit? Are those places still there? 


Write your story and submit it with the completed form. Stories may be submitted in one of the following ways:

  1. Drop your story off in person at the Planning Department at City Hall, the Mansfield Public Library or the Mansfield Historical Museum.
  2. Send your story by post or e-mail your story to the Historic Preservation Officer or Mansfield History Museum at the address below. 
  3. Submit your story online by filling out the form: This is Us Form
  4. Print the paper form and submit to the Planning Department at City Hall, the Mansfield Public Library or the Mansfield Historical Museum. Download form here.
