Latest information on Coronavirus (COVID-19) available from Tarrant County Public Health

The Tarrant County Public Health serves as Mansfield’s public health department and is providing up-to-date information to residents on COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Tarrant County Public Health’s Emergency Preparedness staff is working closely with The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Texas Department of State Health Services to get the latest updates on this evolving situation. They are also updating local response plans as needed and have sent health alerts to the Tarrant County medical community and other partners, including Mansfield public safety and emergency management.

Although there is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19, the best way to prevent infection is to take the following precautions:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
