Mansfield Public Library offers countless services to it’s patrons and books are just the beginning. From computers to virtual programming, there sure is something for everyone!
1. Databases and subscriptions
The library subscribes to digital databases of all kinds. Whether you are looking to learn a new language, download books, or practice for the ACT, there is a database that the library subscribes to for you. Did you know you have access to over 30 different FREE magazines all from your own device? The library additionally subscribes to print magazines and newspapers of various kinds that are located within the library.
2. DVDs and TV shows
Mansfield Public Library carries the hottest DVDs and award winning TV shows. Dying to watch that HBO show? Check to see if the library has the season first. Browse the library catalog here.
3. Language learning tools
The library subscribes to two language learning tools. Pronunciator and Transparent Language (powered by RB Digital). Pronunciator allows you to explore over 80 different languages and even practice pronunciation with a live tutor! Transparent Language has over 100 different languages to learn and lets you track progress and goals while practicing listening, writing and having regular assessments.
4. College prep, job prep databases
MPL subscribes to two vital databases called Learning Express and Brainfuse. Learning Express allows patrons to prepare for college by practicing various college admission tests like SAT/ACT. It additionally has tools for patrons to search for scholarships and grants and find different schools that fit the students criteria. This database additionally helps with job prep as it lets you practice and take placement tests for specific fields. Brainfuse is a helpful tool that allows individuals to prepare resumes and cover letters.
5. Seed Library
Whether you are a beginning gardener or a full-time horticulturalist there are all kinds of seed varieties here for you at Mansfield Public Library. The library has over 163 different varieties available. These options do change through time and we are open to requests! From daisies, zinnias, to mustard greens and even lipstick peppers the library is always seeking new varieties! The seed library is continuously evolving and we could not be happier to help the community grow one seed at a time!
