Artists for the Earth Competition - Winners Announced

Artists for the Earth Creative Contest Winners -Congrats!

Congratulations to our Part One and Two winners! The City of Mansfield Environmental Services Department and the Keep Mansfield Beautiful Commission would like to honor residents who participated in producing a creative work that expresses how current challenges are impacting the environment. Thank you to all of our talented eco-artists for devoting their creative energies to bring awareness about current environmental issues.

Part One - Creative Writing

Theme:  "Power of the Pandemic Perspective"

With so many negative things happening in the world, it is more important than ever to focus on the positive.  Artists were encouraged to share their perspective on how the COVID-19 pandemic influenced their perception of the environment. The goal was to create a message that encourages awareness among residents while creating ideas for action.

  • “Power of the Pandemic Perspective” by Jenna McDonnell
  • “Find the Good Within the Bad” by Abby Bush
  • “How COVID-19 Has Affected our Earth” by Ava Preston
  • “My Future Tree” by Jim Notman

Part Two: Photography

Theme: “Lens on Litter”

Litter is more than just an ugly thing to see. It is costly to clean up, impacts our quality of life and economic development, and eventually ends up in our waterways and oceans. The purpose of this contest was to raise awareness about litter problems to help prevent littering in our community.

  • “Plastic in Their Home” by Leila William
  • “Reduce, Reuse and Stay Happy” by Aubrie Greeley
  • “Drowning in Plastic” by Ashton Greeley
  • “Tired of Litter” by Kira Tracy
  • “Hopeful Future” by Ana Marques Lopez
