Chunk Your Junk and Shred Day

What is Chunk Your Junk?

Chunk Your Junk events are a chance for residents to bring in old, bulky items that are too large to set out for regular curbside pickup. No household hazardous wastes are accepted at this event. Residents are invited to bring trash, bulky materials and paper to be shredded to the Chris W. Burkett Service Center, 620 S. Wisteria St., Oct. 3, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. - noon.

Some changes in drop-off procedures have been added to ensure safety of both residents and staff.

Here’s what you need to know before you go:

  • This event is open to Mansfield residents with proof of residency (utility bill or driver’s license).
  • In order to abide to social distancing guidelines, residents are required to unload their own vehicle.
  • Please maintain social distancing of at least six feet while unloading materials.
  • For protection of both staff and residents, masks covering the nose and mouth are required.
  • All children must remain inside the vehicle while dropping off materials.
  • We do not accept any materials from businesses or contractors.
  • Senior/disabled residents may email before 9/25/2020 to schedule pickup.

Acceptable Items

  • Appliances  (AC units, refrigerators and freezers will be accepted only with written verification that coolant has been removed)
  • Electronics
  • Furniture
  • Scrap metal
  • Tires
  • Trash
  • Paper for shredding
