What do I need to check out a hotspot?

In order to check-out a Mobile Beacon Hotspot, a valid drivers license or state ID and your library card in good standing (no fines or fees) is required. Mansfield Adult residents have access to the hotspot program. 

Where do I check out a hotspot?

Simply stop by the front desk to check-out your hotspot. If you have placed your item on hold through the library catalog, a notification will be sent to you when your item is available for pick-up. You must check out and return the hotspot to Mansfield Public Library front desk. Please do not return hotspots in the bookdrop.

How long is the checkout period? 

The checkout period is one week/seven days, with no renewals. Once you have returned a hotspot, you may then be put on the the waiting list for the next one available. 

Are there any overdue fines or fees?

There is a overdue fee of $1 per day for any late hotspot. Replacement costs for the hotspot kit is $200. 

Using the Hotspot:

  • The Wi-FI network name and password is printed on the back of the hotspot. 
  • To charge, insert the cable into the micro-USB charging port into the hotspot and plug into the outlet. 
  • To turn on/off the hotspot, press and hold the Power button.
