[ARCHIVED] Food for Fines

Food for fines jan. 2-30 with cans

Do you owe some fines in the library? Would you like to clear those fines and help the community by restocking the pantry? Join us during the month of January for Food for Fines!

Mansfield Public Library is participating in the annual Food for Fines drive from January 2-January 30. Patrons are asked to bring in non-perishable food items in order to pay their library fines.  All donations benefit the Mansfield Mission Center.

Items that are open, expired, or damaged will not be accepted. Food for Fines will only apply towards overdue or lost library card charges. Lost book charges, damaged item fees, or other fees associated with your library account will not be eligible.

Fines up to $10 can be waived for $.50 a can. Please note that only Mansfield Public Library materials will be waived.

No fines? No problem! The library will happily accept donations from those without fines. Help your community by donating any non-perishable food items during the month of January. Let’s gather together to help our neighbors in need!

Some examples are:

Breakfast item: cereal, cup oatmeal, Pop tarts, dried fruit

Canned fruits and vegetables

Proteins: such as tuna, chicken, peanut butter, and beans

Canned soup, stews, and chili
