Several Shops at Broad retailers and restaurants are opening mid-October, just in time for busy holiday shopping season as the first phase of the new lifestyle center takes shape.

TJ Maxx opened their Shops at Broad location on Sept. 29 to enthusiastic shoppers and a $10,000 donation to Harvesting International in Mansfield.

Department store Belk held its grand opening Oct. 16 after previews held the previous week. The Mansfield location is the company’s third Tarrant County location.

Developer Geyer Morris has revised the phasing schedule, said Deputy City Manager Joe Smolinski, to include more retailers in the first phase of the project. The company also worked with city officials on a new plan and design that would add a promenade and open space area to the lifestyle center with a goal of providing more community space to The Shops and attract more retailers to the project.

“The new designs reveal a dynamic approach to making The Shops at Broad a true lifestyle center where the community can gather,” said City Manager Clayton Chandler.

The remainder of the Phase I of the development is expected in spring 2020. That includes Flix Brewhouse, 54th Street Restaurant Drafthouse and the restaurant promenade area.

Phase II is expected to open in November 2020.
