Presentation
- Texas state representative and former Mansfield Mayor David L. Cook presented proclamations to each member of the City Council, congratulating them for being elected to their respective seats and thanking them for their public service.
Proclamation
- The Council proclaimed July as Park and Recreation Month in the City of Mansfield.
Council Announcements
- Mayor Michael Evans encouraged Mansfield residents to donate blood in light of a nationwide blood shortage.
Staff Comments
- Mansfield Emergency Medical Services Chief Kevin Sandifer was presented with the 2020 Jesse Fernandez Front Line Leadership Award for his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sandifer continues to lead Mansfield’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
- Director of Finance Troy Lestina informed the Council that the City of Mansfield was awarded the FY 2021 Government Finance Officers Association's Distinguished Budget Award. This is the 35th straight year the City of Mansfield has been given this award.
Consent Agenda
The Council approved an amendment to the contract for design services with Wier and Associates, Inc., for the Day Miar Road project for an amount not to exceed $36,500.
The Council authorized the City Manager and the Mansfield Police Department to make application, receive and expend grant funding from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Crime Prevention Authority to continue a multi-agency task force.
The Council approved the minutes for the June 14, 2021 regular City Council meeting.
Public Hearing and First Reading
- The Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to approve a zoning change at the M3 Ranch residential development, which is located in Johnson County, east of Farm to Market 917 and north of Bedford Road.
New Business
- The Council passed an ordinance requesting the abandonment of a portion of a House Road right-of-way relating to the Watson Branch Phase One Addition to R.C.M. Watson Branch Partners and Mouser Electronics. The ordinance also requests the reserving of a public utility easement in the area.
- The Council passed changes to the filing forms for public office in the City of Mansfield.
- The Council discussed establishing sustainability goals for the City of Mansfield. No action was taken.
- The Council discussed the creation of a cost-recovery policy for various city services. No action was taken.
