Showcase your pumpkin creativity during Mansfield Public Library's Pumpkin Painting Contest! All ages can paint a favorite book character, book cover, movie or more for a chance to win a library swag bag in two different age categories: Kids or Teens/Adults. Entries will be simultaneously judged online by "liking" photos on the Mansfield Public Library Facebook and through in-person voting at the library. This contest is free, but registration is required while supplies last.
Rules
- Limit one pumpkin per person
- Pumpkin is provided while supplies last. All other supplies for decorating is on your own
- All pumpkins must be painted, absolutely no cutting or carving. We want your beautiful creation to last all October
- Each pumpkin must have a theme relating to something in the library (book cover, character, movie, etc.)
- All entries must be in good taste. We reserve the right to omit entries that we feel are inappropriate
- The library is not responsible for any damage or theft while on display
- By entering the contest, you give the library permission to take pictures of your creation and share them and/or your first name online and/or in print
Timeline
Sept. 21 - Oct. 15: Registration opens and pick up your pumpkin
Oct. 15: Deadline to enter and pick up pumpkin
Oct. 20: Last day to turn in completed entry
Oct. 22: Pictures of entries will be posted on Facebook and pumpkins will be displayed in the library
Oct. 22 - Oct. 29: Voting on Facebook through "likes" and in-person voting in the library
Oct. 30: Winner is announced and contacted
Nov. 5: Deadline to pick up entry before pumpkins are discarded
Judging
- Voting runs Oct. 22 - Oct. 29
- To vote online, "like" an entry photo on the Mansfield Public Library Facebook
- To vote in-person, see the front desk of the library
Prize
- Fame, glory and bragging rights for all
- A Mansfield Public Library swag bag for the kids category winner and the teen/adult category winner
