A recap of the Nov. 8, 2021 regular City Council meeting. 

During the public portion of the meeting: 

Presentation 

  • Tarrant County Clerk Mary Louise Nicholson presented the Tarrant County 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic Historical Book to the Mansfield Public Library.
  • Council recognized those who had the best floats and best marching units at the Veterans Day Parade and Salute.

Recognition 

  • Council recognized Class 1 of Emerging Leaders.
  • Council recognized Class 2 of My Mansfield Muni-Versity.

Consent Agenda

  • Council passed an ordinance to amend chapter 156 of the city’s code of ordinances regarding Park Land Dedication and Development fees. 
  • Council approved an economic development and performance agreement between the Mansfield Economic Development Corporation and Mouser Electronics.
  • Council authorized a contract modification to the Bud Ervin Water Treatment Plant control system replacement project for control system upgrades. 
  • Council awarded the contract for the new Public Safety Burn Tower Foundation and Skills Pad Project. 
  • Council approved a special event permit for the Mansfield Turkey Trot. 

Public Hearing 

  • Council approved a specific-use permit for a gas station on nearly 1.5 acres of land at 2919 N. Main St. 

Public Hearing and First Reading 

  • Council passed the first reading of an ordinance approving a historic landmark overlay district classification for the 1894 post office building at 130 N. Main St.
  • Council denied a zoning change on a more than 146-acre tract of land that is generally bounded by South 7th Avenue and Jessica Drive on the east, Hank Street on the north and the northern boundary of M3 Ranch to the south.

Public Hearing Continuation and Second and Final Reading

  • Council converted a 6.5-acre tract of land located near the corner of Country Club Drive and Matlock Road from C-2 Community Business District to PD, Planned Development District.

New Business 

  • Council rescheduled the Dec. 27 regular City Council meeting to Dec. 13. 
  • Council canceled the Nov. 22 regular City Council meeting. 
  • Council discussed the ballot for voting of candidates to serve on the Board of Directors for the Tarrant Appraisal District, Johnson County Appraisal District and Ellis County Appraisal District for calendar years 2022 and 2023. No action was taken.
