Proclamation
- Mayor Michael Evans issued a proclamation honoring Orion Jean, an 11-year-old 6th-grader at Alma Martinez Elementary School in Mansfield who has garnered national attention for his "Race to Kindness," a series of incredible community service initiatives.
Consent Agenda
- Council passed a resolution supporting a grant application to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for matching fund assistance for the development of a trail connecting McClendon parks east and west.
- Council passed a resolution changing the designated authorized official and conveying the power and authority on the city's behalf to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the Justice Assistant Grant received through the Governor's Office of the state of Texas.
- Council passed a resolution approving the purchase and construction of a new public safety burn tower in the amount of $2,540,410 and authorizing the city manager to execute an agreement with FireBlast Global of Corona, California, on behalf of the city.
- Council passed a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute an agreement with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc., of Plano, Texas, on behalf of the city for building plan review and inspection services.
- Council passed a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into an interlocal agreement with Kaufman County for the procurement of goods and services.
- Council denied Parklet Program permit renewal applications for the parklets located at 126 N. Main St. and 117 N. Main St.
Public Hearing
- Council passed an ordinance setting forth the standards of care for the Recreation Department's Kids Zone Program.
Public Hearing Continuation & Second and Final Reading
- Council passed the second and final reading of an ordinance approving a zoning change to PD, Planned Development District for Warehouse/Distribution Services, on approximately 19.99 acres of land located on the south side of Mouser Way, approximately 2,000 feet east of FM 157 and approximately 1,550 feet west of US 287.
New Business
- Council approved a set of priorities for the continued revitalization of Historic Downtown Mansfield.
- Council rescheduled the regular City Council meetings in March from March 14 to March 7 and from March 28 to March 21.
- Council discussed renaming the pond behind the Parks Administration Building on Matlock Road after Texas Rep. Toby Goodman. No action was taken on this item.
