Be the Star of the Show at Hometown Holidays 2019

Ever wish you could enjoy a holiday season as magical as the ones on tv? Come home to Mansfield, Texas, and be the star of your own Christmas movie. Hometown Holidays has a Hallmark-worthy lineup of merry moments, including shopping in a historic downtown, tree lighting with Santa and fireworks, a hometown parade and much more!

Friday, December 6

5-9pm: Hometown Holidays

City Hall | 1200 E Broad Street
Enjoy a holiday market, let the kids play on the real ice slide or street hockey rink and of course, visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus!  Help us ring in the season with our official city tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. , followed immediately by a gorgeous fireworks display.  

Cost

Admission is free; food and some activities available for purchase with cash or card.

Holiday ornament craft (free)
Cookie decorating (free)
Ride & activities including mechanical bull, ferris wheel and life-sized snow globe (free)
Mural walls throughout for photo opportunities (free)
Dallas Stars street hockey rink (free)
Live entertainment from local groups (free)
Ice Slides ($3/small hill single ride, $5/large hill single ride, $20/unlimited ride pass)

Santa

Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive right at 5 p.m. and will be seated inside their cottage at the front of City Hall. There is no charge to see Santa, be sure to bring your own camera to take a photo! Line closes at 7:45 p.m.

Registration deadline Nov. 29; Houses due by noon on Dec. 6
Do you have sweet frosting skills? Enter our first annual gingerbread house contest! Applications are due Nov. 29; houses must be delivered by noon on Friday, Dec. 6 so they can be on display at the Hometown Holidays Tree Lighting event. We have special prizes in each category as awarded by judges, plus a special overall winner voted on by the public during Hometown Holidays. Apply here to enter the contest

All food and treat vendors will accept cash or card, prices vary
S’mores at the fire pit ($3/each or $5/two)

Parking

Parking is free and available at Mansfield City Hall and all surrounding buildings, including the Tarrant County offices, library, public service building, and on Wisteria Street.

Saturday, December 7

9am: Kiwanis Falalala 5k

Katherine Rose Park | 303 N Walnut Creek Drive
Lace up your sneakers for the Mansfield Kiwanis Club’s annual 5k/fun run that starts in Rose Park and runs through the Walnut Creek Linear trails. It’s a gorgeous start to a busy and fun day! Register online at kiwanis76063.org

12pm: SUPER Kids Santa Visits

Mansfield Activities Center | 106 S. Wisteria
Every child deserves a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus! Register here for free SUPER Kids Santa Visits, private appointments in sensory-friendly and completely accessible environment for children with special needs and their families. Spaces are limited to control traffic flow and crowd sizes; please sign up early to join the fun!

12pm: Red-Nosed Reindeer

The Music Place Mansfield
Grab your seats for the parade and stay tuned for a very special treat, as The Music Place, Mansfield gives our guests a live performance of their latest production, The Red-Nosed Reindeer, right on Main Street in Historic Mansfield.

2pm: Hometown Holidays Parade

Historic Downtown Mansfield

Over 50 entries including floats,  schools, churches and local businesses come together this Saturday to help the City of Mansfield ring in the holiday season in style… hometown style! It’s a beloved local tradition you don’t want to miss, and sure to be part of your family memories for years to come. This year’s Grand Marshal retiring MISD Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas.

3:30pm: Merry Christmas Concert with The Ric Flauding Ensemble

Farr Best Theater | 109 N. Main St
Enjoy a jazz-ensemble performance of an exciting mix of Ric’s most popular Christmas and original instrumental favorites immediately after the parade in the historic theater. Presale tickets and more information available from the Mansfield Arts Commission website.

Sunday, December 8

1-5pm: Mansfield Women’s Club Tour of Homes

Get in the holiday spirit by touring beautifully decorated local homes! Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, with proceeds benefiting the Mansfield Women’s Club’s work to benefit women & children in the area. Find out more information and purchase tickets on their website
