Due to positive West Nile mosquito tests, the City of Mansfield will conduct targeted ground spraying this weekend.
Due to positive West Nile mosquito tests, the City of Mansfield will conduct targeted ground spraying. Spraying is expected to begin Sunday, Aug. 16 through Tuesday, Aug. 18. Spraying will be conducted between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Please reference the maps showing the specific spray areas.
During the spraying period, it is recommended that residents in this area limit time outdoors, remove pet food and water dishes and keep pets inside. It is also recommended that residents cover fish ponds, if possible, and cover beehives if they keep bees. Pools do not need to be covered.
After spraying it is recommended residents clean outdoor furniture, grills and playground equipment with water before use. The chemical used is not known to harm humans at the rate of application used, but may cause irritation to the eyes, nose, throat and skin, therefore exposure should be limited.
Please watch social media or check the City’s website for updates should there be a change in the spraying schedule due to weather.
