Yes. If you have placed something on hold you may suspend that item to make it inactive. Simply log back into your account when you are ready to activate your item and you will be placed back on the holds list. This feature allows you to not lose your place on the wait-list.

From the library catalog, you can place a hold on an item that is currently checked out by clicking on "Place Request". A hold prevents the current borrower from renewing the book. When it is returned, it will be placed on hold for you. Then the library will (based upon your account preferences) call, email, or text you to let you know when the item is available for pickup at the library.
Please note that any hold items not picked up within four days will be cancelled.
You may renew items up to three times as long as it is not on hold for another patron and your account is in good standing with no fines.
You can return your items to the Mansfield Public Library or any of our consortium locations, Kennedale or Arlington branches. The library has an outside drive-up book drop and a book drop attached to the building at the main entrance.
If you are having trouble locating an item on the shelf, stop by the Library front desk and tell the staff. We will look for the book and let you know if the item has been found in the library and placed in its proper location on the shelf. Please note, however, this will not prevent someone else from checking it out.
Your hold materials are located at the front desk of Mansfield Public Library.
Once you have been notified that your hold is ready, you have four days to pick up the item. Any unclaimed items will either be reshelved or sent back to the appropriate library.
If you are a nonresident of Mansfield, Arlington or Kennedale, then you only have access to items here at the Mansfield Public Library. You cannot place a hold on items in Arlington or Kennedale.
