Building Safety is a department within the Development Services Division which performs ordinance enforcement in the areas of construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Building Safety also reviews plans prior to permit issuance and performs general field inspections of commercial and residential construction.
The City of Mansfield has adopted the 2018 Building Codes with an effective date August 1, 2019
Building Safety is responsible for the inspection of buildings during construction to ensure compliance with the approved construction plans and all governing building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, municipal and state codes.

Contractors need to call the 24-hour recorded inspection line at 817-276-4269 to request an inspection. Please speak clearly and leave the following information: the correct property address, including any suite numbers; the specific inspection needed; a contact telephone number in case we have any questions.
All inspections called in before 3:00pm will be done the next business day. If you need to cancel an inspection that was called in, you need to call the office number at 817-276-4220 before 9:00am to let us know.
