Streams and ponds provide habitat for a wide variety of interesting organisms. Students will learn about the different types of freshwater ecosystems and how the inhabitants of these bodies of water interact with each other. Live animals will help us learn about freshwater habitats right here in Texas! We hope students will have a newfound interest in these very intricate ecosystems and be inspired to do your part to keep these areas clean and healthy.

April classes will be online via Zoom.
Join us for science and nature related lessons geared toward a home school audience! The theme for this spring is Nature Explorers. Student registration is for a full season of six classes (dates listed below). Lessons will build on each other throughout the course. Investigations include hikes, science lab experiments, live animal encounters, and other hands on explorations. Preregistration required. Students will be separated into 5-8Y and 9-14Y age groups.Class Sessions:

In our daily lives, one of the most influential aspects of nature is the weather. We notice it as we look out the window or walk out the door. Weather affects plants and animals as much as it affects us, so a study of the weather is an important part of nature exploration.
