The Environmental Collection Center (ECC) is the City's permanent drop-off facility for unwanted household hazardous materials (anything with a warning label), electronics and recyclables. This facility is operated by the City's Environmental Services Department, and is open the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., and the Thursday and Friday before the second Saturday, from 3 - 7 p.m.
Reading with a gentle listener can reduce stress while also boosting a reader’s confidence to read aloud. Families and children may sign up for one-on-one time to read aloud to a therapy dog to practice reading skills and get some great pets in.
Registration is required for 10 minute reading time slot.
Toddlers 18 months to 3 years old with a caregiver can enjoy 30 minutes of books, songs, finger-plays, and rhymes introducing toddlers and parents to developmentally appropriate literature and related activities. This introduces group listening skills and provides interaction with others.
Its game on at the Mansfield Public Library from 1-3 pm. Beginners and pros are welcome to join classic Nintendo Switch games. This program is free, however, a library card may be required to check out a controller. No registration is required.
Some wildlife in Mansfield is only active at night. Join a naturalist for a 'spooky' hike as we try to identify the sights and sounds of natural night life. No need for a flashlight as you learn about the bats, spiders, and more spooky animals that call our forest home. Brig the whole family for a night-time nature walk!
