Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off

The Environmental Collection Center (ECC) is the City's permanent drop-off facility for unwanted household hazardous materials (anything with a warning label), electronics and recyclables. This facility is operated by the City's Environmental Services Department, and is open the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., and the Thursday and Friday before the second Saturday, from 3 - 7 p.m.

Holiday at the House

Celebrate the holiday season at the Man House Museum, 604 W. Broad Street, on Saturday, Dec. 10 from noon to 4 pm. Take a tour of the decorated Man House, enjoy hot cocoa and snacks, create a holiday card, make an ornament, and craft a homemade present for friends or family! Admission is free for this event, but supplies are limited.

Reading with Rainbow

Reading with a gentle listener can reduce stress while also boosting a reader’s confidence to read aloud. Families and children may sign up for one-on-one time to read aloud to a therapy dog to practice reading skills and get some great pets in. Registration is required for 10 minute reading time slot.

Storytime for Tots (18mo-3Y)

Toddlers 18 months to 3 years old with a caregiver can enjoy 30 minutes of books, songs, finger-plays, and rhymes introducing toddlers and parents to developmentally appropriate literature and related activities. This introduces group listening skills and provides interaction with others.

VR for Beginners (13+)

Drop in for VR experiences in gaming, global exploration, artistic creation, and more! Walk-ins and reservations available. Younger family members can watch, but participants must be 13 years of age or older to use the virtual reality headsets according to the manufacturer. The use of VR headsets are not recommended for those with pre-existing medical conditions such as seizures or medical devices.
