Conflict of Interest Questionnaire
House Bill 914 was enacted by the Texas legislature which added Chapter 176 to the Texas Local Government Code. Chapter 176 requires certain local government officers and those doing business or seeking to do business with local governmental entities to publicly disclose specified relationships. Any person doing business or seeking to do business with the City of Mansfield must file Texas Ethics Commission (TEC) Form CIQ, Conflict of Interest Questionnaire. An explanation of the requirements of Chapter 176, applicable forms and complete text of the law can be found on the Texas Ethics Commission website www.ethics.state.tx.us. Conflicts Disclosure Statement
Effective January 1, 2006, Chapter 176.003 of the Texas Local Government Code requires certain local government officers to file this form. A "local government officer" is defined as a member of a governing body of a local government entity or a director, superintendent, administrator, president, or other person designated as the executive officer of the local government entity. This form is required to be filed with the records administrator of the local government entity not later than 5 p.m. on the seventh business day after the date on which the officer becomes aware of the facts that require the filing of this statement.
