Parks and Recreation
The Parks & Recreation Department operates and maintains more than 500 acres of developed parkland, more than 50 acres of athletic fields, 3 public/private partnerships and several recreational facilities throughout the city.
Mansfield Parks & Recreation Department currently operates and maintains more than 900 total acres of parkland, over 100 athletic fields, Walnut Creek Linear Trail and Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park. Nature Education, based out of Oliver Nature Park, offers classes for all ages to enrich and enhance the appreciation of science and nature. The Mansfield Activities Center offers enrichment, social and athletic programs for Seniors, Preschool, Youth and Adults. Our special events division develops multiple major city-wide events including races, festivals and a huge July 4th celebration. The department also includes four public/private partnerships.
