A healthier community starts with you! Mansfield is participating in the 2019 IT'S TIME TEXAS Community Challenge, presented by H-E-B. From Jan. 7 to March 3, Mansfield city leaders and residents will demonstrate their commitment to healthy living by participating in the program and earning points. Mayors, residents, schools, businesses and organizations across the state earn points for their communities simply by making healthier choices. The winning community in each size category will receive funds to put toward future community health efforts.
Winter Walk began years ago as a grand opening celebration to the Walnut Creek Linear Trail and has continued as a great, family-friendly way for residents of all ages to come together and enjoy the fresh air and cooler temperatures of the season on a leisurely one mile walk. In 2017, the event was transformed into the Snowman Run, a 5k race geared towards kids and families. The race shirts feature three "coal" buttons, and participants complete the look by adding scarves, hats and more.
